Marianne Boettcher studied in Berlin with professors Willy Kirch and Michel Schwalbé and supplemented her education in Geneva with Professor Henryk Szering. Today she is honorary professor and leads a violin class at the Berlin University of the Arts.

She received numerous awards and was invited to CD, radio and television recordings. Extensive concert tours have taken her repeatedly to the USA, Russia and Japan as well as almost all European countries. As a guest of the festival, you will be familiar with important international festivals, such as the Berliner Festwochen, the Heinrich-Schütz-Fest in Sweden, and the Henryk Wieniawski Festival in Poland.

Marianne Boettcher is also known as an interpreter of new music; many works by well-known composers have been written for her and premiered by her. She was repeatedly invited to give masterclasses (eg in Vienna, Tallinn, Rheinsberg and Prague). In 2003 she received the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon.
