Prof. Sorin Enachescu Klavier


In Reghin (Saxon Rain / Transylvania), born in Romania, the pianist Sorin Enachescu received the formative youthful piano training in Neumarkt (Tg. Mures / Transylvania) by Sarolta Trozner, the niece of the composer Franz Erkel. He completed his studies at the colleges in Cluj (Clausenburg) and Bucharest with Georg Halmos, the pupil of Emil von Sauer in Vienna, and Florica Musicescu, the teacher of Dinu Lipatti. After completing a concert diploma at the Bucharest University of Applied Sciences and winning the International Piano Competition "A, Casagrande" in Italy, he became an assistant at the Bucharest University in 1971. Concerts and recordings complemented his pedagogical activity. Since 1977 lives and Germany. He first taught at the Hamburg Conservatory and studied until 1980 as a Siemens scholarship holder with Prof. Yara Bernette at the Musikhochschule Hamburg. Enachescu attended masterclasses with Eliza Hansen, Elgin Roth, Christoph Eschenbach and Justus Frantz. He recorded for solo and chamber music works for the SFB and WDR. From 1983 to 1985 Enachescu taught at the
Music School Mannheim. In 1985 he moved to the University of the Arts in Berlin as a lecturer. His solo, chamber music and recitals complement the horn trio with violinist Marianne Boettcher (UdK Berlin) and the horn player of the Berlin Philharmonic Stefan Jezserski.

As a piano duo Sorin Enachescu performs with his pianist colleagues Elena Lapitskaja, Pascal Devoyon or Fabio Bidini. As a lecturer, he teaches at master classes in Berlin, at the Royal College of Music in London, the University of Music Bucharest and Gangneung University in Korea. He is a juror at international competitions in Italy. In 1999, Sorin Enachescu was appointed honorary professor at the Berlin University of the Arts, and since 2006 he has been a full professor of piano at the UdK Berlin. The students of his class win international prizes in Germany, Italy and the USA.
