Olaf Ott Trombone


Olaf Ott was trained at the Dortmund branch of the University of Music Westphalia-Lippe. In 1985, he became the solo trombonist of the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra (also the orchestra of the Deutsche Oper am Rhein). Between 1989 and 1994, he was the principal trombonist of the RSO Berlin (now the German Symphony Orchestra Berlin). In 1994, he joined the Berlin Philharmonic as a trombonist, and since 1999, he has been their principal trombonist. Olaf Ott is also a member of the brass ensemble of the Berlin Philharmonic and has been playing with the Triton Trombone Quartet for almost two decades, which has won several international awards.
